Develop a "heads-up" display controller for a drivable proof-of-concept car with collision avoidance and driver warning systems for Federal Highway test.

Adaptive cruise control, audible, haptic and visible alerts are controlled to enhance driver and passenger safety.

The vehicle relies on forward radar sensing, a forward vision system, in-vehicle sensors, and GPS, as well as forward collision warnings and adaptive cruise control.

PacInfo's Solution:

Analyzed potential operating systems, platforms, and peripheral drivers for rapid prototype development requirements.

Developed modular, object-oriented software quickly with substantial code reuse from previous project. Initial project emphasis was on ability to easily calibrate inputs and reconfigure displays in the field.

Iteratively refined software as requirements were solidified through human-factors research and field testing.
