Develop downloadable flash utility software for an engine controller module flash memory.

The utility shall be able to update both calibration and powertrain control software modules.

The Calibration module must be upgradable either on a specific function-by-function basis or else be able to be upgradable in its entirety.

The Powertrain Control Module software must be upgradable in its entirety.

Modify PCM software to accept flash utility.

Test and validate software.

PacInfo's Solution:

PacInfo wrote a utility file (executable software) which runs out of non-volatile RAM to program flash memory. The utility is downloaded to the PCM by an off-board device.

Performed testing and validation at customer site.

PacInfo also modified the PCM software to be able to accept the flash utility updates from the Calibration and Powertrain Control modules.
