A Big 3 auto manufacturer had problems with a diesel engine controller. Major functions still needed to be included, the throughput was too high, and documentation requirements were out of date. But they were “out of ROM, out of RAM, and out of time.”

They contacted PacInfo because the project had to be done quickly and correctly. We assembled a team of experienced engineers, installed the customer’s system in our facilities, quickly got up to speed, and got the job done right and on time.

Our tasks:

1. We updated the compiler to the latest version, set the correct compiler options, and deleted unused variable/functions.

2. We rewrote scheduler logic, evaluated software function, and rewrote time consuming table look-up routines to execute efficiently.

3. We updated the Requirements Documents to reflect past Software Change Requests, converted documents from Interleaf™ to Word™, and implemented Software Change Requests.

PacInfo kept the client informed and up-to-date. PacInfo gave the client periodic customer-site meetings, weekly status reports, had frequent teleconferences, and was responsive by telephone and fax.

Because PacInfo has the depth of experience and a dedicated engineering staff, we were able to jump right in and solve the problem.
