As a designated center of expertise for a Big 3 auto manufacturer, PacInfo was brought in to design and perform requirements testing for electronic throttle control software, to review system requirements, and to assist in the development of testable system requirements.

This was a long-term project which required an effective system of managing and monitoring the project.

PacInfo's responsibilities were:

• Modify product requirements specs to define a set of testable standards;

• Prepare documentation of the requirements in the specs to be tested;

• Design and define tests to verify the requirements;

• Perform testing and validation of the requirements defined;

• Prepare reports for testing results and re-test software updates;

• Report and determine root causes of requirement failures.

The PacInfo project management system maintained high professional standards throughout the entire length of the project. Our proprietary database application generated detailed project and task tracking reports for the client. Channels of communication included weekly teleconferences, client site visits, and e-mail.

It yielded efficient and effective results: PacInfo’s resulting validation plan format was so effective and clear that it was adopted for use as the client’s new company-wide standard.
